Life in Belek

Belek is located 30 km east of Antalya, between the Aksu River and Acısu Stream, extending over a 20 km stretch of beach in one of Turkey’s most beautiful and protected tourism and environmental zones. It is also situated in the heart of the Pamphylia region, historically home to many civilizations and one of the most fertile areas.

Belek, with its 300 sunny days a year, enjoys a climate that has made it one of the most preferred destinations for both local and international visitors. Belek is a tourism hub with 49 hotels, 15 golf courses, 10 golf clubs, 55 football fields, 253 tennis courts, and 200 conference centers, playing a leading role in Antalya's tourism sector.

Being a special tourism zone, Belek's development has been planned, while always maintaining respect for nature and environmental protection. Along the coastline, areas for the cultivation of endemic plants like the sand lily have been preserved, and the endangered Caretta Caretta turtles are protected through a long-running project coordinated with Hacettepe University. Hotels have supported this initiative through Betuyab.

Visitors to Belek not only enjoy luxurious hotels but also get the chance to witness the dance of migratory birds and squirrels amidst the lush pine trees.

During its time as a town, Belek’s local administration built strong relationships with hotels, helping it evolve into a beautiful and modern tourist village. Now, it is a district of Serik, but thanks to Betuyab and the hotels’ efforts, Belek has become a globally recognized tourism brand. Investments, media promotions, and large-scale international events have made Belek’s name stand out. Major events include the G20 Summit, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum with Russian and Ukrainian representatives, the Turkish Airlines Open with players like Tiger Woods, Martin Kaymer, and Colin Montgomerie, winter training camps for many famous European football teams, and the ATP 250 tennis tournament, all of which have been held at Belek’s hotels, showcasing impeccable service.

In addition, Belek has shown its commitment to religious tolerance and respect by opening the “Garden of Religions” in 2004. The garden houses a church, mosque, and synagogue, symbolizing equality among all religions in Turkey.

What to do in Belek? Belek’s luxurious hotels meet all guest requests, which is why many visitors prefer not to leave the hotel grounds. However, due to its location, Belek offers plenty of alternatives for tourists. The town center has many tourist shops, banks, pharmacies, and hosts a local market every Saturday. Dolmuş minibuses run every 20 minutes from the hotels to the town center. Guests staying at Belconti Resort can also walk to Belek.
